Tarsier Studios secures further funding for development of new ‘Hunger’ concept

We are super proud to have been awarded €150,000 in development support from the Creative Europe Programme – MEDIA of the European Union for our new concept, Hunger.

Hunger is an adventure-suspense game about a girl named Six and her attempts to escape the strange world of The Maw. Hunger’s ambition is to offer something different to players looking for exactly that.

Having already received financial backing from Nordic Game for the concept, we feel the Creative Europe support shows Hunger has the ability to inspire and impress those who come into contact with it.

“We couldn’t be happier” says CEO Ola Holmdahl. “Only about 20 percent of the applications were awarded Creative Europe development support. Our goal is to make the best game we possibly can, and for Tarsier this money means we can go forward and explore the Hunger concept with greater confidence.”

You secured funding over a year ago so what progress has been made and when can we expect a beta of the game?

    • Obviously, the details of any kind of public Beta are yet to be announced, so there’s nothing I can tell you there. However, the work undertaken since the funding – controls, mechanics, character animations to name but a few – is all focused on ensuring that when there IS a hands-on version of Hunger, it’ll do what the teaser promised.

Thank you for the quick reply! Do you have a rough timeline for release? This oddly enough is the game that decides if I get a ps4 orbit unless you are porting a pc version? :)

        • We do, but that’s the kind of thing that needs to wait til an an official announcement I’m afraid. Great to hear that it’s a deciding factor for you though. That’s the kind of game everyone aspires to be I guess. Hopefully we’ll be able to help you out with that fairly soon! By the way, love the profile pic. They Live is one of my personal favourites!
